Old people….

Posted under: In the mind of Chris Moreno — admin @ 4:56 pm

4th of July is just around the corner. I live in San Diego California where the majority of the SD population goes to the beach to drink, socialize and have fun. But no, old people have to spoil all the fun and passed a proposition that bands alcohol on the beach. Now I know that we create a large amount of trash with our beer cans, beer boxes and food packaging, but a least we’re creating jobs for people to come in the next day and clean up after us, right? Or does the city pay for that? Who cares, we only live once and we’re only young once – old people were young at one point, weren’t they? It kind of sucks because old people today have nothing better to do, but find things to complain about and make our life more boring then they already are. Okay, you’re probably saying, why didn’t you get out and vote? Well, I work and so do the rest of the people that let loose at the beach on 4th of July. Therefore, we didn’t have time to vote - I did sign a petition on the web, but I don’t think that much?

On another note, my fiancée told me that on the ballet this year in California there is going to be a proposition to make gay marriage illegal again; didn’t we just make that legal about a week or so ago? Seriously, why do straight people (mainly religious old farts) always have to butt their nose into homosexuals’ lives? I’m straight as an arrow and I could care less if gay people want to elope – personally if I was gay I would go vote to make gay marriage illegal again. Why you ask? Because now they are screwed just as much as straight people are: government all up in your business, you have to split everything that was yours before the marriage (if you get divorced) and pay more taxes (I know that’s government related, but whatev’).

Anyways, Old people just don’t understand - haha, that’s funny, it’s just like Will Smiths, “Parents just don’t understand.” Anyways, back to my original point, old people have no life and ruin fun for our generation – they create new propositions, they pass this proposition, which in turn creates a new law – damn our generation is getting their ass kicked! We need to start passing our own proposition – like old people cannot drive. I know that would bite us in the butt down the road, but we’ll be old, and we will have plenty of time to take the bus and vote to let old people (us) drive again - it would be like a field trip, but for old people, right?

multi-billion dollar bailout

Posted under: In the mind of Chris Moreno — admin @ 2:42 pm

Alright, the congress wants to pass a multi-billion dollar bailout for homeowners and their banks using your money – our tax dollar! They want to bailout those 2% that are at foreclosure who assumingly decided to take a non-fixed interest rate – it’s not our fault their retarded. Plus, Wall Street made billions during the housing boom and now demands government bailout (i.e. corporate welfare). Seriously, when will the lower and the middle class (renters) get a break? I’m tired of being taxed and watching us (the middle class) receive the short end of the stick – middle class is getting smaller every day and the Government is doing everything to help it along. It just amazes me that we (Americans) set back and allow this to happen as if we cannot do anything about it. I guess now I see why Europeans say, “typical Americans”- we’re lazy, dumb and hypocritical. If you want to stop this nonsense go to angry renter dot com.

2008 Torrey Pines US Open

Posted under: In the mind of Chris Moreno — admin @ 11:27 am

So I went to my first pro golf tournament and it just so happen to be the 2008 Us Open 18 hole playoff between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate. If you didn’t get a chance to watch it, it went 19 wholes and Tiger Woods won. It was an amazing day for golf and the shitty part about it, is that I was there. Yes, it was shitty because there was 27,000+ people all trying to watch 2 golfer’s play – not going to happen. It was so pact that I missed a good majority of the playoff. I (as well as others) did not think the turnout was going to be so high, but I guess if Tiger is there, then people will come. I would say the best part about the tournament was being 15ft away from Tiger and Rocco on the 18 green when they were putting to send it to 19; other then that it was the beer. No beer and I think I would have left and went to work – it was that boring. They had no TVs around the golf course, no other golfers to watch while you were waiting for Tiger and Rocco, but when they did come by it was electrifying – the crowd was going wild (I have never seen the wave at a golf event before – it was funny). Anyways, my advice, if there is another 18 hole tournament and you want to actually watch – stay home.

2008 NBA Finals

Posted under: In the mind of Chris Moreno — admin @ 11:49 am

You know, when I was first watching the 2008 NBA Final between the Lakers and Celtics I thought the series seemed rigged, but after last night game (Lakers blowing a 20+ point lead) I think that the Celtics are just the better team. I mean the first 3 games the Celtics were getting all the calls and the Lakers had to force the refs to make the call. In game 4 the refs called a pretty fear game, but the Lakers could not manage to hold on to a 20+ point lead half way into the third quarter. Wow… Wow is all I can say. I just hope the Lakers can win game 5 and maybe 6 to make this NBA Finals a series. Who really wants to watch the best two teams in the NBA for only 5/6 games? I don’t care if you’re a Boston fan or a Lakers fan, I just want to see a great series – not a series that started off controlled by the refs and end in game 5 – that would be boring! Oh well, maybe the Lakers will do the impossible? Only time will tell…

Pandora

Posted under: Epic Websites — admin @ 11:05 am

So I found another epic website called Pandora. Basically, you search for an artist, band or singer that you like and it generates a play list of that artist and other artist alike. The great thing about it, is it is like a radio station w/out the crappy commercials. Plus, you will discover new artist that you never knew about. On top of that, you can save individual song, albums or even buy the song/album with their quick link to itunes or amazon.com - it’s “brilliant!”

what to do:

  • visit pandora.com
  • create an account - its free!
  • search for an artist and enjoy!

San Diego State University Represent…

Posted under: In the mind of Chris Moreno — admin @ 2:59 pm

San Diego State University Drug BustThis is some funny shit. I just read that 96 people were arrested, 75 were SDSU students for a drug bust called “Operation Sudden Fall.” They confiscated “two kilograms of cocaine, 350 Ecstasy pills, marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, hash oil, methamphetamine, illicit prescription drugs, several guns and at least $60,000 in cash.” Oh, but the best part about the drug bust is that one SDSU student was  a month away from getting his masters in homeland security - can you say, “drug smuggler.” That’s my college baby! Anyways, I just thought I would share this article because I found it hysterical.

I got a story to tell…

Posted under: In the mind of Chris Moreno — admin @ 10:51 am

It’s roughly 1 o’clock in the afternoon (yesterday – lunch) and my co-worker and I are headed to the corners store at our local food court. As we pull in a front row (20min) parking spot is open and my co-worker said, “I hate parking here because it’s a bitch trying to back out - fuck it! I’m going to do it any ways (he’s talking about all the traffic – it’s like a train station people are coming left and right.)” So we park, get out and head into the corner store, he picks up some smokes – while I’m looking at some smut. Transaction complete, next step, close the car doors and attempt to back out of this gridlock like parking spot. So as we’re continuously attempt to back out I say, “Just start backing up man, make someone stop for you – just cut them off.” Right after that he says, “fuck it!” backed up in a rapid pace turned the steering wheel and smack! He smacks the parked car’s bumper next to us. Shit! So anyways, he finished backing up and starts to take off, but then this girl pops out of the parked car yelling, “What the fuck!” So what do we do? Do we speed of into the parking lot? Hmmm… It did seem tempting, but it takes you a couple minuets just to get out of the place – so we had no where to run or hide. So my co-worker parks the car – blocking some parked cars; he gets out and apologizes and assesses the damage. While he assesses the damage, Im board waiting to the car. So I get out of the running vehicle, which is like I said before, is blocking some parked cars… Well, this is where the story gets even more interesting… So as my buddy is trying to resolve the situation a couple guys walk up to their parked vehicles – yup, we’re blocking them; and they start to flip out. They look over our way and yell at us, “Is this your car?” I reply, “Yeah, give me a sec. I’ll move it.” He throws his hands up as if he is appalled or disgusted with my response to his question. Don’t ask me why? So anyways, I yell at him, “Just get in your car and I’ll be right over there to move the vehicle – just give me one sec.” He again, looks at me and mumbles something – I don’t remember, but for some reason it triggered me to say the most random thing I have ever said to a stranger. Are you ready for this? I told they guys, “You know buddy, just get the fuck back in your car… you know what? I kill people like you for a living – so get the fuck out of here!” Holly shit! Did I just say that? No, I didn’t… did I? Fuck, where did that come from? I have no idea, but I do know that it had my co-worker and I rolling and the girl next to us shitting her pants.
